About the event
"The Doctor is In" is a family-friendly production featuring 28 young actors in grades 3-8. The show begins with a terrific dance routine followed by two comedic one-acts about doctors.
“Understanding Your Pet with Dr. Marla Brett” by Andrew Frodahl follows Dr. Marla Brett, a revolutionary pet therapist who has developed a new pill she claims will help people better understand their pets. Five eager patients with very misunderstood pets are happy to participate in the trial. Everything starts out great, but medical breakthrough turns to chaos as the pet owners return, suffering from an unforeseen side effect — they are now starting to act like their animals.
“Attack of the Clown Dentist Zombies” by Scott Haan is another quirky comedy, this time following events of an ill-fated meeting of dentists. The doctors conclude they will be able to better relate to their scared patients by dressing up as clowns while working. Though this doesn’t seem like the best idea to Dr. Hanover’s kids, Xander and Susan, who sit patiently by as the meeting takes place, their dad and the other dentists unknowingly make an even worse decision by indulging in cookies offered by Bernice Hoffenbridle. Bernice’s new bakery is located right between the nuclear waste treatment plant and the experimental chemistry lab, and the events that follow? …The title of the play says it all!
We can't wait to see you at the show, and we encourage you to purchase tickets ahead of time. Presale tickets are only $5 online or available at Hometown Comics in Greenfield. Tickets at the door cost $7 for adults and $5 for kids.
